November 2, 2021

Eco will showcase its revolutionary plans to help businesses tackle climate change as part of a virtual COP26 event.

Eco Group, which is based in Dumfries and Galloway, will highlight its range of products and services which can be used across business sectors to help cut carbon emissions when it presents its vision for the future during a 24/7 virtual exhibition as part of Scotland’s Climate Ambition Zone.

Among the products to be launched by the company are:

  • Off Grid, hybrid solar and wind sustainable street lighting to save 80 per cent of existing lighting systems;
  • V, easy to install electric vehicle charging points to encourage the switch from fossil fuel vehicles;
  • HVO, reducing drivers’ carbon footprint up to 93 per cent by replacing diesel with hydrated vegetable oil (HVO);
  • Eco Dry Ice, an environmentally friendly, fast and more efficient circular cleaning method.
  • Duo Rail, an autonomous, net zero rail infrastructure which will significantly reduce carbon emissions;
  • Tree, ‘cleaning trees’ introduced primarily in cities complete with air filtration systems to reduce air pollution;
  • EcoIS, scalable air purification solutions, removing air borne pollutants, germs and micro particles from buildings.

Eco has a proven track record of creating and delivering solutions for businesses and is forging ahead with the projects to help Scotland deliver its net zero target. The Scottish Government’s ambition for Scotland is to achieve net zero by 2045.

Eddie Black, founder and Managing Director of Eco, said: “With COP26 taking place in Glasgow, there has never been a better time to make changes which will deliver sustainable economic development, create opportunities, and work towards a global goal of reducing carbon emissions. We’re collaborating closely with partners to ensure we can deliver the latest technological innovations to businesses across the UK to enable them to initiate change, and stay ahead of the game. We’re delighted to be able to showcase our range of solutions as part of Scotland’s Climate Ambition Zone.”

Eddie has also been selected to be part of a hand selected panel at the ‘How Scottish SMEs can start their journey to Net Zero today’ event on November 2.

Organised jointly by Scottish Enterprise and its partners, Scotland’s Climate Ambition Zone is a programme of virtual events aimed at highlighting Scotland as a world-class location of inspiring green projects and companies.

The events programme will run over the same period as the main COP26 global climate summit, which takes place in Glasgow from October 31 to November 12.

The UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties 26 (COP26) will bring together heads of state, climate experts and campaigners to agree coordinated action to tackle climate change.

As well as a virtual 24/7 exhibition space, Scotland’s Climate Ambition Zone also includes webinars on topics including zero emissions, offshore renewables, green skills and the circular economy.
